The very first episode of In the Know: Straight Talk on Health in Knowsley is here – a brand-new podcast series from West Knowsley, South & Central, and Kirkby Primary Care Networks, designed to keep local residents informed on key health topics.

Episode 1 focuses on a subject that couldn’t be more relevant: childhood immunisations, with particular attention to the MMR vaccine in response to the recent measles outbreak in Knowsley.

The panel brings together a mix of professional expertise and lived experience:

  • Sarah McNulty – Director of Public Health, Knowsley Borough Council
  • Gary See – Explore Partnership CIC
  • Gaynor Chisnall – Immunisation Lead & Team Manager, Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust
  • Kate Williamson – Knowsley parent, teacher and patient (joined by baby Isabella)

Across the episode, the discussion covers:

  • Why immunisations are so important right now
  • How to recognise and challenge common myths about vaccines
  • What steps parents can take if they’re unsure of their child’s vaccine history
  • How local health and community services are working together to keep children and families safe

This is an open, down-to-earth conversation aimed at parents, carers, educators, and anyone wanting to understand more about vaccines and how they protect our community.
