Urgent Practice Update

Dear patients,

This is an update from the team at Cornerways Medical Centre. Our telephone lines may seem busier than usual on Monday 5th October 2020, which is due to ‘lower than usual’ staff levels within our telephone / administration department. This is due to a singular confirmed COVID-19 case within this department. The building is currently undergoing a deep clean and the practice will be open to patients after 10:30am on Monday 5th October. A number of staff are now awaiting test results and will be isolating until confirmed negative for Coronavirus. Cornerways Medical Centre has enlisted the help of our partner practices to assist in answering telephone calls, which will help increase telephone capacity and reduce the impact to our patients. We would be extremely grateful for your patience and understanding at this time. The team at Cornerways assure all telephone calls will be answered as soon as possible.

If you do need to call the practice but your query is non urgent, we ask that you please call us after 11am when the telephone lines are less busy. This is a particularly challenging time for all staff within general practice, as we have now entered what seems to be the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic. With Knowsley and Liverpool currently under stricter measures due to increasing COVID-19 cases in the North West, we expect this to present more challenges over the coming weeks.
